Remarkably, the latest player to be linked with a move to Stoke City is legendary Brazil playmaker Ronaldinho.
The 34-year-old veteran has played for Barcelona, PSG and AC Milan. He has been with his current club, Athletico Mineiro since 2012, where he has found the net 16 times in 45 appearances.
The Ballon d’Or winner was set for a move to the Premier League in 2001, with Arsenal being the preferred destination at the time. However, the transfer never materialised after the player failed to get a work permit to play in England. This will not be an issue should the Stoke rumours ring true as he holds a Spanish passport.
The Potters will have tough competition for the flamboyant midfielder’s signature as QPR and West Ham are also rumoured to be interested.
Should Ronaldinho come to the Britannia Stadium this summer, he runs the risk of being another big name to flop in the Premier League. Sure he can do it in the Nou Camp, but can he do it on a cold Tuesday night in… you know where this is going…
